She’s one powerful B-otch!-LIVE MUSIC & YOGA Sat, 1/9, Katrina & Gary Fishman.

by Yoga Mama on Jan.03, 2010, under Uncategorized1

“She” be Kali! She is said to have emanated from the brow of Goddess Durga (who rides a Tiger! Oh, and what do you know, this is the year of the Tiger!) She shakes your lower chakras to all hell. You’ve seen Kali… ,she is naked, large breasted, eyes on fire, crazy hair, and has a large lolling tongue. All symbolic of course. Don’t forget the garland of 50 skulls, the girdle of seven severed human hands; she has four arms which hold the mudras “fear not”, a bloodied sword, and a severed head. And like Shiva, she has a third eye. But, she is depicted with her foot on Shiva’s lying body, holding him down in the Cremation Ground. She dances like a mad woman with her disheveled hair, and eerie howl, that represents the cycle of chaos and order. Well, Shiva is no dummy…he wants himself some of that action. He pounds out the beat and they dance the Tandava (the dance of creation) late into the night. Kali empowers him. She is Shakti. She is Prakriti (Nature and Shiva’s beloved gone wild). She is creative energy. She is one powerful B-otch! Come let your tongue loll..your hair be wild, and your eyes roll. Come dance to the pounding beats of the Tandava…and release your Kali…your Shakti…your divine creative energy. Myself and Gary Fishman will guide you into your inner Kali at Spiral Yoga. Live music and yoga on Saturday Jan 9th at 5:30. Visit www.spiralwellness.com for more details. Come clothed, but be ready to expose yourself!
