Making Peace with Our Body, Satsang w/ Alakananda 3/19

Reknowned Spiritual Teacher and Ayurveda Practitioner, Alakananda Ma, will speak deeply from her heart on the following topic – MAKING PEACE WITH OUR BODIES.  Today many of us think of our body as a car or a machine, or we seek plastic surgery and liposuction for a more “designer” body.   Can we come to some peace with the body we have and experience true wellbeing?  Kirtan with Alandi Mandali starts at 7:00, Satsang begins about 8:00.  Alakananda is a local treasure not to be missed! $10.00 donation requested. Alakananda Ma Returns to Spiral, January 22, 7:00 pm

Ayurveda Master and Spiritual Teacher Alakananda Ma returns to offer satsang at Spiral.  This month, she will give her seminal talk called The Mother’s Awakening in the Age of Aquarius.

Learn what the Mother’s re-awakening looks like in our current age.   Kirtan with the band, Alandi Mandali will begin at 7pm, Satsang will begin at about 7:45.   Come to either or both!   Donations of $10.00 or more will be gratefully accepted and donated to Pakistani Flood Relief efforts.

Toddler Yoga/Movement Series, Jan 5-26, 2011

Share the practice of yoga with your toddler(s) this winter.  Each class will include movement/asana, songs, games, and time to slow down and rest.  By practicing yoga with your toddler(s) you are setting a foundation for and investing in their health and wellness.  Yoga helps build strength, balance, and concentration while simultaneously stimulating their senses, providing social interaction, enhancing their self-esteem, and improving communication and stress management skills.  This class is tailored for crawlers to age four.  Parents/caregivers practice together with their toddler(s).

Wednesdays January  5th-January 26th, 2011, 10:15-11:00 am

$40 for entire 4 week session (pre-registration required) or regular class prices for drop ins.  Parents/caregivers with multiple children are encouraged to attend.  Prices apply to one adult and one toddler.  Additional toddlers are $5 per child.  Non-mobile babies are welcome at no additional charge.

Family Yoga, Sat, Dec 11, 4:30 – 5:15

Join Sara and her daughter Grace for an evening of movement/asana, songs and games as we move from being super silly to quiet, calm and peaceful.  Family yoga provides a wonderful space for the entire family to bond and connect while simultaneously stretching, strengthening, and relaxing your body.  We’ll move like animals, explore different breathing exercises, and of course have fun giggling and connecting to our own inner child.  This class is appropriate for all ages and parents/caregivers will practice alongside their kiddos.

$10 for one adult and one child or $15 for the entire family (up to 4 people).  Non-mobile babies are welcome at no additional charge.  Parents, grandparents, siblings, aunts, uncles, friends of the family, etc. are all invited to attend.  Pre-registration is encouraged to reserve your spot.

This workshop will teach you when to introduce new foods, how exciting the first three months of solids can be, and easy tips to prepare & freeze in quantity to save time. You will also leave with a few samples of food to try for your little one. Making Peace In Our Family, Satsang with Alakananda Ma

We long for peace on earth yet our most intimate relationships sometimes seem like war zones.  How can we develop genuine community and loving communication that really works at a family level?

Spiral’s own Beth Sanchez will teach us how to make delicious vegetarian green chile, calabacitas (corn and squash side dish), blue corn enchiladas with red chile sauce, pinto beans with chicos, and sopapillas. This is Beth’s version of soul food so come and get some authentic food, passion, and connection to our part of the earth. Saturday, August 7th, 1:00-3:00.
